I had ordered a phone records request through Intellius and paid the $14.95 fee for the report. This was my second time using Intellius and had never had a problem with them before. Until this time.
When I checked my bank statement, I saw that Intellius had forwarded my credit card information to PMIdentity.com, and they made an unauthorized charge of $14.95. Trying to get in touch with PMIdentity.com and talk with a live person was a chore in of itself. When I finally DID get a real person, they insisted that this was part of the package I purchased through Intellius. Wrong! I made doubly sure that nothing else was checked except the phone records report I wanted to buy.intellius is a complete ripoff and I will never go through them again!
I know that $14.95 isn't a whole lot to gripe about, but it's the fact that these companies feel obligated to charge you whatever they like for purchases you have not authorized!
I've disputed this charge with my bank and hopefully this (along with the overdraft fee it caused) will be removed shortly.
Also, helpful hint: when you call the 888 number to talk to a real person, do not press any numbers (i.E. "dial 1 for membership, etc"), just hold on the line and it will automatically connect you with their jerky customer service.
