I signed up for Direct TV on the internet. I received the equipment, etc. But was not informed that each receiver would cost $4.99 each and that my bill of $59.99 a month would actually cost me $90.81 a month.
There was a caculator on the web site that stated the acutal amount of your monthly bill. It is misleading to say the least!!! I believed I would be charged $59.99 a month with an additional charge of $13.00 for HBO, which would equal $72.99 a month approximately.
I have tried to talk to the representatives of Direct TV and like many others I get different people to talk to and different statements from these reps. I also found out that my contract was for two years. On line it stated one year.
Direct TV is not honest with its customers nor its equipment. I would like to know if there is a time limit on contracts such as this that could be cancelled without penalties!!! They also have my credit card number as well as you have stated in other complaints. I will not have them charge my credit card for these fraudulent amounts. What is a person to do in this situation?
