I signed up with Vonage and tried the service for a short while and was unhappy with it because the modem would require restarting every day. I would never know if I was able to recieve a call untill it was too late and the caller tried my cell to tell me that they couldn't reach me through my vonage line. I decided to cancel the service and realized that they make it almost impossible to do so. I waited on hold for almost 2 hours and talked to 4 different people who were only interested in talking me out of cancelling.
After 2 hours of pain I was able to accomplish the goal of cancelling the service. Whew thank God I am finally free of vonage... Or so I thought. It was not until the next month that I realized that vonage was stealing money out of my bank account. They had lied to me on the phone and continued charging me for service. I was unable to get them to give me back the money they stole from me so I decided to cut my losses and I had my card issuer deactivate my account number. It was only by doing this that I was able to stop them from stealing money from me... Or so I thought.
It was not until 2 weeks ago that I realized that they continued charging my account a monthly fee even without my card number. Then they sent my account which I had closed long ago to some collection company. I have never had such a nausiating customer experience with a company. I was even due a fifty dollar rebate for the modem I bought from them (which barely worked) which I was never paid. Just sick.
