OK I see from the numerous other reports on this site that I am not the only one having trouble with this company. I received a letter from Afni telling me I owed a debt to verizon. Now aside from the fact that I dont recall if I have ever had an account with Verizon I noticed the number was for a town I did live in at one time.
While I could not recall if the number was the one I had at the time, I do know that I had not lived in that town for about 12 years. And I believe I had allready settled the debt I did have about 8 years ago.
So concerned that something was being misreported I tried calling the number given in the letter. Which was a wrong number. So I looked up their website and found a different number which I called merely to hear a recording telling me that due to a high call volume they could not take my call.
I hope I did not do anything wrong by giving them a little online feedback stating that if I did not recieve detailed information on the debt they say I owe, that I would not pay them anything.
