CreditLife Ripped me off! Did NOT send products and gave me a BAD refund check! Ripoff

I will start off by saying that I made the mistake in giving out my banking information. Someone in the field of IT should know better.

I was called back in June by Variety about a special offer to receive free tickets to fly anywhere within the US or receive like 1,000 gallons of gas. Being straight out of college, I thought it sounded like a deal. I knew it was too good to be true, but I went ahead with it.

They told me that no money would be taken out of my account until 21 days after I received their promotional package. They even played the recording back to me where I asked and they stated it. I asked several times if money would be withdrawn and was assured it wouldn't.

I cancelled the offer through Variety about a week later, after not receiving any materials from them. They did not tell me that I had to go through CreditLife to cancel a suboffer that I didn't realize was part of the original offer.

As soon as I saw the amount of $149.00 taken from my account, I called Variety, who promptly gave me the number to CreditLife. They said they had nothing to do with the $149 transaction. Naturally, I was livid.

So, I called CreditLife (1-888-251-1069) and about lost it when they told me there was nothing they could do but cancel any future transactions. They tried to tell me some bull about accepting the offer and that there was no way I could prove that I did not receive their promotional material. They played the recording and that's when the stuterring started.

They lady didn't know what to say when she heard the Variety representative say that no money would be taken from my account until after 21 days of my receiption of the packages. She did try and weasle her way back and say that she saw where I cancelled the Variety package and it was returned, but did not see where the package from CreditLife was return.

That's when I got them. They had the wrong address for me. They had to refund me. I swear she sounded like a wounded dog after that. They told me in order for me to receive a refund, I would have to write a lietter and mail it to them. So I did. I sent three copies to them.

About 2 and 1/2 weeks later, I got my refund check. I went and deposited and, wouldn't you know, the check bounced. I immediately tried to call them, but the number was conveniently having "Technical Difficulties". I started trying to Google the company and found nothing.

I called my bank and they have starightened everything out and will be going after the company. I now have a new account and am currently waiting for new checks.

I did find the company's website.

They have another number listed on their site as (888) 251-1068. I got the same response with that number as well. Looks to me like they change numbers every so often.

By the way, there is another 800 number on the check that is generated. It won't work either.

Good luck if you go through with their scam. I've learned my lesson and never again will I do any transaction over the phone.
