Global Ripoff Again Overcharged, Late Delivery, Lies, Blocked incoming email, didn't respond, etc

I selected Globex Shipping to ship my household items and automobile in two 40' containers. Same group of characters assisted in usacomplaints.com filed on this site. Bella, Sandra, et al.

I promptly paid for their services and later overcharges even when the ADDITIONAL charges were not justified

It got off to a bad start. Containers were delivered to be loaded a day late. Globex did not notify me or the movers that were hired by them to load them.

Later I received an invoice for $1500 for boxes. The mover used boxes to protect my furniture. Supposedly this and 70 rolls of tape are NOT part of wrapping my furniture. Fyi. All my loose items were already packed by me in the SAME $2.50 box the mover (Hollywood Movers) charged $20 for each. CAN YOU SAY RIPPED OFF?

The containers were picked up November 29th. Globex said my containers "sailed" and would be here January 5th. This turned out to be a lie. I rented storage space based on that information.

Globex screwed up the automobile shipment (they blame it on US Customs) in December which delayed the shipment weeks and cost me $640 for their mistake or inability to deal with obviously stupid requests from US Customs. Their request was so outrageous it appeared to be an attempt to steal my car. They initially refused to do anything unless I signed over ownership of my vehicle by signing the California title. ONLY after threatening them with a call to the police did they properly take action. Stupidity or an attempt to steal a highly desirable car? Who knows.

"International Relocation Experts" should know how to deal with an International Move don't you think? A unsubstantiated claim taken directly from their website: "Whether your car is to be shipped inside the US or any other distant place outside the US, Globex will do the job with ease and exceptional professionalism. The customs clearances, the paper work and every other procedural work is handled by the expert staff and the reliable partners worldwide."

They didn't tell me until much later that the shipment of both containers was delayed because of their inability to deal with US Customs requests quickly.

Everything shipped and was scheduled to arrive January 28th per Globex. Now I start getting unusual requests for documents from the agent in Spain. They don't know what to do with the requests from Aduana. I independently work out the government paperwork requests. An "International Moving Expert" should know how to deal with an international move don't you think? But Globex says this is my problem. No. There was no problem other than them not knowing how to properly respond to requests from Aduana in Spain.

Another claim from their website that was not substantiated by their performance:

"Globex International provides shipment internationally from origin to destination. Our knowledge of port services and our reciprocal arrangements with trustworthy forwarders in every port enables us to move your cargo efficiently and safely. Globex International provides both direct and consolidated air, sea rail and truck services. We take responsibility for ensuring that all the licenses and paperwork are in order and stay with your shipment until it has been accepted by the consignee."

The shipment arrived at the port in Tenerife on January 24th. Globex thinks it will arrive on the 28th when they send me a message to pay for their mistake described above. I complained again but promptly paid it. My account is now clear. I owe them nothing.

The shipment cleared Spanish customs on February 14th

February 19th. Globex tells me they wired money to the agent "last week" This turns out to be a partial payment. They don't fully pay the agent until March! Furthermore paying them last week was too late. The agent should have been paid when my items arrived.

The agent in Tenerife was Gil Stauffer. This company didn't do a thing until they were FULLY paid per their agreement with Globex. When the containers didn't move, there were storage costs and I had to pay them. They did not communicate with the agent's multiple requests for information on the payment.

The agent charged me over $3000 for storage costs because they were not paid in full by Globex by the time my items cleared customs. It took Globex almost 1 full month after customs cleared to fully pay the agent so they would deliver my items.

March: The containers were unloaded. Surprise! The quantity of overpriced boxes charged to me by Hollywood Movers, the movers hired by Globex, was incorrect. They charged for boxes that were not used. Not a significant event in the entire mess but still an event worth mentioning.

The entire ripoff is documented on my website (ROR removed because of security purposes)
