I am worried I fell for a scam that was posted on your website yesterday.
Sunny Richards from Tornado Office Systems called asked for me at my office today. She said she had previously spoke with my supervisor (and gave me the correct name) and said that my supervisor gave her a list of supplies we may be interested in (all the supplies in which we order on a regular basis) but that my supervisor told her I was out of the office & that she would need to speak with me in order to find out exactly what we need and that I would place the order.
So I made the ultimate mistake and assumed that she was telling the truth and since my supervisor was not in the office to verify the previous conversation. I got the prices which sounded great & agreed to try her services. Then I asked where they are located and she said currently they are in Stockton, CA however are moving their business to Dardenelle, Ark. And that all her information would be on the invoice following in 30 days.
After I spoke with her, I thought something was a little off, so I got online and found this report along with an unsatisfactory rating from the Better Business Bureau. It has a warning issued that it is an invoice scam and that you will receive more supplies than you order and will receive an invoice for an astronomic amount.
Because I believe I was given false information (ie said they spoke to my supervisor & started the process, which they did not) I will not be accepting this order. I have faxed a cancellation to the fax number listed on the BBB website and have informed everyone in the office of the situation.
I am disappointed in myself for falling for such a scam but hope this will help others to guard themselves from making the same mistake.
