I was checking my bank balance on 7/10/07 when I saw a transaction of $149.95 was taken out on 7/5/07 from USA Credit. I called the bank and they gave me the number 800-685-9354 which was listed next to the charge.
I called USA Credit and spoke with Erica. She told me that the $149.95 is a fee for an on-line shopping cart and to make sure anyone in my household did not use my account, which is not the case because my cats can not dial. I tried to find out how they received my information, who was purchasing items, etc. She told me she could not give me that information but they were serious about online fraud. She said I had to file a police report. Against who I don't know.
She confirmed that my account was cancelled and gave me a confirmation number (700170). She also stated that they would send me forms that I had to fill out and to return them within 10 days so I can get a refund. As of 7/29/07 I haven't received anything from them.
The good news is that I went to my bank on 7/10/07, disputed the charges of $149.95 from USA Credit and $4.95 from Imagine 1 (processing fee). Closed that account and transferred monies to new account with the disputed funds added in. I also told the bank rep to check out usacomplaints.com because I was not the only victim.
I am grateful for getting my money back from the bank. Am I going to hold my breath and wait for USA Credit to send me the forms for a refund? No.
