Covenant Transport
Sometimes it's worth and then sometimes it's not

I have worked for covenant for some time now and have seen many things change over the years. I can agree with those who have come and gone. This company states that "The Drivers Are Their #1 Concern!", not!!! There have been times when I needed to get home and because someone on night dispatch felt that my needs weren't justified, they had other plans. Now I leave my pov in Chatt and drive home. When it comes to loads, this can make or break a driver. Due to the companies splitting the divisions loads are sometimes difficult to get.

The different divisions dont like to give loads up, so drivers can be sitting for hours or days b/f they get a load and a load can be just a few miles from them. It can also be said that those of us that have been here a while know that the company can run a thirty day team for a lot less money, so what does that tell all of you. If you been here a while hang it up, the miles go to the thirty day teams.

The training program has become more of a headache than what it is worth. I train, bit not for much longer. Many trainers have stop traing b/c of the days moving up to 35 days, and this has cut into our hometime dramaticly. We used to go home 12 weeks out of the year and now it has been lessen by the 35 days, that can sometimes go 35 days. The trainer get no respect from safety or dispatch when they have problems (cant speak english, cant follow directions, and etc..) with students. The trainers can't train students properly, especially when they are put under loads that are team loads and they just put a new student on their trk. When they get these loads that have 2 days to get to the receiver, the trainer cant get proper sleep and the students are not getting proper training b/c they are being forced to run. This puts them and the motoring public in danger, but Covenant doesn't see it that way. If a trainer tells safety that a student is not safe, cant drive and etc, they will still let a student upgrade. Then they wonder why they have so many accidents out here. I could go on and on about this subject, but i think you get the point.

I will say this there are some good trainer with this company and then there are the bad ones. David Parker once said that he let this company get to big and it got away from him. Well its time that he gets his company back under control and run it. If he stops letting everyone else run this company and do what he set out to do to 20 years, this company might be good again. Its time to go, but there will be more in the future! Thank you and good luck!
