In response to your training. I'm a trainer and I do understand the stress and cramp conditions when having to train a team. But if you did not come in as a team, you did not have to train as a team. I do know that there are the good trainers and then there are the bad ones. I have trained for this company for three years and things have not gotten any better with the training program. Trainers are the ones who are getting the shaft with this 35 day crap.
Their hometime has been shorten and they still don't have any say when it comes to students. The students that come in now to train and drive trucks are entering this job field for the wrong reasons. They don't take the time to research this profession or go to a truck stop and talk to truck drivers. They think this is a job that just requires sitting on your * and drive from point a to b.
Enough about the students, lets talk about these dirty trainers and how they abuse students. We have trainers that tell female students that if they dont sleep with them, then they wont graduate. But you also have students (male and female) that seek out trainers just to sleep with them, so they dont have to work on the truck. Then we have trainers that just tell students that if they dont upgrade and cause the trainer not to get his/her bonus that they will do something to them. There are good trainers that actually do their jobs and train.
Now lets talk about the company. For the past year this company is supposely going thru a overhaul. Well I have not seen any changes for the best. You have some drivers who get miles, but thats only because they know someone and they also dont go past I-40 during the winter. Then there are the drivers who are struggling to make ends meet at home. They dont get the miles to pay their bills or take care of their families. Its been said that David Parker stated that he only needs the trucks to run 2500 miles to pay for themselves and not the drivers. Then theres the all time favorite: they can run thirty day teams for a lot less than they can run regular drivers; thats a fact.
Now you know why covenant doesnt have any freight. Its because they put thirty day wonders on big name accounts and they screw around on the loads or have accidents, so covenant lost the accounts. Then they have separated the divisions. So if you are on the team side and waiting for a load you end up waiting a day or longer. But if the solos side has a load and no one to go pick it up, they will not give it to a team and vice/versa. This is a waste of time, money and freight. If they have the loads, then they need to give them to the drivers and stop with all this division bs. There are drivers that need to make money!!! There is so much I can say, but I will continue this at a later date. Thank you!
