An electronic check showed up on my bank statement for $159.95. I had no idea what it was and a check had bounced because of a lack of funds, which wouldn't have happened if I had known about the $159.95 being taken from me. So I went to the bank and asked for info about the transaction. They gave me a copy of the electronic check which had a phone number on it. I called the number but got no answer.instead, an automated voice told me to go to edpreporting.com.
I did so immediately and sent an email asking for a refund because I did not authorize the transaction. Over the next several days, I emailed back and forth with a guy named Eddie Banks who claimed that I had indeed authorized this transaction and that they had the electronic signature to prove it so I was not eligible for a refund.
I went back to my bank and told them what happened but so far have not heard if they have been able to do anything about it or not. I am very very upset because I had 2 checks bounce and was charged $50 in overdraft fees, which the bank returned to me, but now I am short $159.95 and am unable to pay my credit card bill in time which leaves me stuck with a bounced check fee and a late fee from Citibank totaling $78!
I am especially upset for the way "Eddie Banks" treated me in his emails, talking down to me as if I was stupid for not knowing I had agreed to be robbed of my money and patronizing me with phrases like "If you had read what you signed you would know..." He just didnt grasp the fact that I had never read, signed, or authorized a single thing and no clue who/what this EDP company was. This had added a great deal of stress and financial difficulty to my life and I need it to be resolved immediately.
