This woman is one of ebays top liars. She deals in rare gemstone jewelry. I conversed with this woman on several occasions before deciding to purchase a 600.00 ring. The ring was set with an emerald cut small alexandrite stone.
She informed me of her return policies to include a restocking fee and ring must be returned in 5 days in the same condition. I had no problem with that and I was able to make an appointment with my jewelry appraiser in the alloted time, even though she assured me the stone was natural. Meaning mined from the earth. Not lab grown, or simulated.
When the ring arrived, i learned that my appraiser had to cancel our appointment due to family emergency. I only had a day or two to have the ring checked out and make it back in the mail in time, should i have to return it.
I took it to a local but well known jewelry store and was told the stone was lab created. I reported this info back to Patricia. She still insisted the stone was natural, and insisted that the test was off due to testing the stone in a setting. That sounded like total bs to me, but giving her the benefit of the doubt, I took the ring, not to a jeweler, but a gemologist who did way more in the way of testing the stone than just looking through a loupe.
He confirmed the local jewelers conclusions. It was lab. I contacted tricia again this time to tell her that i would be sending the ring back, all though it was pretty i was told the stone was natural. I gave her the tracking number and informed her it was on its way back to her. I promised to leave good feedback upon receiving my refund.
She agreed to the refund and positive feedback, and assured me again that it had been tested by her jeweler as natural. I brought up her earlier theory about how unfortunately the setting must have thrown the testing off.
I didnt want her to crawfish with my money so i even added " Im sure all your stones are natural, and it probably was the lacy gold setting throwing the test off. She sent several emails some that said the check was in the mail... The others were excuses as to why the refund never arrived. I heard everything from sickness to placing the blame on nonexistant employees. She never sent my money back, and continued to sell fake shit on ebay for some time until i guess enough people filed complaints.
Now she is probably under a different seller name. She will have several auctions going at once and will list fake tanzanite, tsavorite, alexandrite, and will have two or more auctions of the same piece of jewelry.
I believe she has bulk of a few basic designs, and will be more than likely trying to unload it under a different seller name or a different auction site. People say im crazy to buy gemstones off of ebay, but i have come across some incredible deals and honest sellers of gemstones that have appraised for 4 to 10 times the amount i paid. But buyer really has to beware.
