This company has been hounding me for over 2 years to pay a bill for a call I know beyond a shadow of a doubt was not made from my home. I asked for proof of the call and they simply sent me a "switch" report that said according to their own switch department the call came from my number.
My phone company at the time said the call did not come from my house, but said they could not release the types of records needed for proof without a court order.
I filed a complaint with the consumer protection agency but 900 direct still is insisting that my husband made these calls. The lady at the bureau of consumer protection said I had no choice but to contact a lawyer and there was nothing else they could do. I could not at that time afford to, nor can I afford to now.
They have since put the bill on my credit report. What can I do. I cannot afford to fight them, and how can I even prove that I didn't make the calls without the phone records. I contacted my credit bureau and flagged the charges as false, but 900 direct is still insisting that the charges are accurate. What can I do?
