On december 27th the home that I was living in bured completly to the ground. After the fire I contacted direct tv to explain my situation and my inability to return their reciever, dish, and DVR. After numerous phone calls with them repeatedly saying that they "needed the equipment back" and I explaing that I could not do so. They informed me that i owed over about 500 dollars. I had insurance covering the equipment through direct tv.insurance to them covers nothing. My credit report reflects this debt. Which under the direct tv insurance i am not responsible for. Direct tv is a multimillion dollar company who does not care about the consumer. Direct tv employees themselves wouldnt settle for this had their house burned down and ever posssesion of their childrens and themselves property was destroyed. Every picture, baby's first items everything that cannot be replaced. But a company such as direct tv should have enough respect to not bill a consumer with enough problems. Direct tv will be compinsated for their loss, so in the end if I pay they will colllect twice. Direct tv will collect angainst any consumer and dont bother calling because they Do NOT CARE.
