I purchased a 57 inch Toshiba television from rent a center in April the tv was brand new. I have always been on time with my payments etc.in Feb I sent my tv for servicing for a minor mark on the screen all they needed to do was replace the screen. They left me with a loaner tv which I was ok with.
Two weeks had gone by and I called to check on the status of my tv was told that they were waiting on parts, Several more weeks had gone by and I picked up the phone again to see what the status was and was told at that time now remember I had made the call two weeks after my tv left my home and was lied to.
I was then told we will find you a tv that is compariable to yours again remember I stated my tv still looked brand new no scratch mark etc the only issue was the smudge looking mark on the screen. On May 14 they come to my door with a tv they remove the loaner tv out of my house up to near their truck and bring in a tv sure it is the same color, make, etc but it looks horrible scratch marks all over the casing and a huge hole in the cloth that covers the speakers.
I told them you have got to be kinding it took you this long to find this tv that looks like crap. I didn't except it and the brought the loaner tv back in to make this long story short I at this point was told you may keep the loaner tv which is used and I asked them what the fair market value on it would be they tell me 1600.00 and mine was 2014.00.
My issue is yes I can keep the loaner tv but I would have to sign a new contract and be willing to pay an additional 19 payments for a tv that is worth less then my original one. Needless to say I wasn't born yesterday but need to know what options I have here. I have faithfully continued to make my payments on the original tv even though I don't have it and have 351.00 left on the contract.
If anyone has some advice as to what I can do I would love to hear from you
