Well, to start I rented (to own) a 32 inch widescreen tv in dec from the rent a center here in villa park Il. I NEVER was late or missed a payment, befor te problumes started, or after. The TV that they sold me was suppost to be new.
So Anyway, in jan the TV that i was still paying for (just finished paying for it a few weeks ago) had a poblum with the screen. It basicly Had a big line going across it cuz the screen was going out. So i called them around jan 31st, and as per my rental agreement, and my insurence which i had on it thru them, they took it in to fix it. A few weeks later, i got it back, with a new remote, and wth a screen that was still broke!
So I sent it back to them, and mind u, i'm still paying for it at this time, and thy promised to fix it ASAP! They did give me a loaner while it was being fixed, apiece of junk loaner which i told them was unexceptable but would work as long as i got my TV back soon. Well, a week turned into 2, and then a onth turned into 2, with still no repaired tv for me. And Yes, i was makeing my payments this whole time.
The mngr of the store. Willie, told me every time i went in to make a payment, that my tv would be ready in a week and would call me in a day er so to confirm it... He never called once. I'd just go in and make my Bi weekly payment, and get the same run around ever time.
So Finally come may, 4 months after my tv went out, and still paying for a tv which i'd never see again, i got fed up enough to call the corprate office, they assured me that the regonal mngr "ryan" would call me the next day, which of corse he never did.in talking to willie previus to my call to corprate, i had found out that the "new" tv i had bought was actually about 6 years old at the time i had gotten it, and they no longer made parts for it, so thats what put me over the edge to call the corprate office.
So even though the regonal mngr never called me, Willie, the store mngr did call, finally, after 4 months and told me he was sending out a "new" tv to replace the one they couldnt fix.
The first one he sent had sound on only about half the channles, and it was suppost to be"new". The Tv he sent to replace that one was a "new" tv, with a 6 year old remote that didnt even work all the funtions of the tv, and the speakers where blown. LOL I don't even rember what was wrong with the 3rd one, but it too was a broke piece of junk. Now it's been over 4 months that i've been paying for this tv i don'have.
So i called corprate again, and this time the regonal mngr "ryan" did call me an promised me a "new" tv within a day. It was delivered just in time for me to make my last payment an ge my certificate of ownership for my "new" tv which i now have paid over $2000 for. And to make a long story short, 1 week later, the screen on my "new" tv had a strange spot on the sreen. I got up to wipe it off and as soon as i toutched it, the whole screen went out!!!
Now, Extreamly upset, i called "ryan" on his work cell to let him know that this TV was junk just like the last 4!! He promised to fix it the next day.
The next day, this regonal manger "ryan" did call, and yelled at me for caling him the night befor, proceded to tell me i was outta line calling his cell, even though he gave me the number and told me to call any time if i had any prob.
Long long story short, i now have that piece of junk loaner tv that i told them i was never happy with, as mine to keep, for my over $2000!!!
RENT A CENTER IS A SCAM OF A BIZ WHICH Sells used junk! Save youseldf the trouble and just g to!
