I called in an issue, and an ac tech (albert) came out from Atlantic AC to look at my unit. I was told that the unit had locked up and it needed to be replaced. Just the outside would cost $1,700 and he would get me the cost for the other half and labor
He called in his comments stating how old and bad this unit seemed and the reasons for replacement.

Leak at valve (due to the age of the unit and pipes)
Coils dirty (due to use of unit)
Breaker tripping (due to bad motor)
Unit gone out due to leek of R22 and dirty coils. Need to replace inside and outside ac unit.
I received a call from one of the HWA reps, (I think her name was Jackie). She said because of these findings they were unable to replace the unit because this is not normal wear and tear. I would have to replace the unit myself. She even went further to say it seems like these issues were there before I purchased the home and the leek was covered up. She also stated that this leak was too bad to have recently started and there was a pan full of oil, and she was told this by the tech (Albert) and this unit is way too old.
After I requested a supervisor she stated that would do nothing for me, I will just be wasting everyones time. After several attempts, I was finally told no supervisors were available and I could be connected to someones voicemail.
I finely got a call back from the lovely Michele Claxton (HWA Supervisor) I think we have heard this name before on here. She was a complete waste of time. I even offered my inspection from when I purchased the home and the ac was inspected. She ole me HWA does not go by Home inspections. So I requested to speak to her manager and spoke to Scott Gates (HWA Manager), who agreed to look at he inspection but also told me that it may not change anything. So I faxed it over to him after his review he stated that they still would not cover it.
I then called my realtor who sold me the house, because after looking on the Texas Real state commission (TRC) website the realtor acts as the reseller for HWA at time of closeting. She then stated she had the same issue last week and another ac person came out and fixed the issue for $75 because that AC Company lied. She gave me the number to Climate Systems Service in Carrollton TX (972-395-1398. Rick came right out within the hour and had the issue fixed in 5 mins. He replaced a 30-amp connector that kept tripping the breaker and the ac unit cam right on.
This issue went on for 3 weeks and was fixed in 5mins by a non HWA AC contractor because their contractor lied to get more money out of me. There AC companies lie to get more money from the homeowner and make everything worse than it is so that HWA does not have to warranty anything.
