Sold me a defective rug and would not make an adjustment Nationwide

I ordered an oval braided rug in the amount of $238.00 over the internet through their catalog. It took a month to receive the rug. It has been five months since I received this rug and I have been sewing it together ever since. It is falling. I contacted Penney's and received a computer generated reply. J.C. Penney does not stand behind it's catalog sales items...!!! I see that they don't even carry the brand any longer, so mine probably wasn't the only complaint. They just ignore the complaints and quit carrying the brand. I'm out $238 and have an oval braided rug that really should be in the garbage, but I continue sewing the braids together, eventually I'll have sewn the whole thing by hand. It is 8 ft. Round.
