Change in payment terms a total rip off! Nationwide

As already mentioned by another writer, JC Penney Co has changed their billing, interest, and payment collection procedures. I received a notice from them which stated something like: the use of your charge card will be authorization that you accept these new terms. They shortened the turn-around time for payment of the cards as well as increased penalties, etc. So, I dutifully cut up my Penney's charge card and sent in my FINAL PAYMENT with a note saying I am closing my account. (The final payment included the total charge on the statement PLUS a charge I had just recently made on the Penney's card that had not shown up on the statement!) The next month, I received a statement from them saying my payment was "LATE" and they charged me over $60!! Needless to say, I did not pay it. I returned the statement with a note on it giving the date and check number of the appropriate payment. NOW I receive a letter from EQUIFAX (I may be sending a complaint about THEM very shortly) stating they have had a negative complaint filed against me that could affect my credit rating. WHAT A SCAM! Two days ago, I received another statement from JC Penney's showing a credit of $59.00 but stll showing that I owe them $2.14. Guess I will no longer be shopping at Penney's!!!
