Slammed by MCI
March 28 when I was scheduled for my regular conference call I discovered that I could not make long distance calls. I figured Qwest must be having problems. However, when I called Qwest, the representative said someone initiated a request to change my long distance provider on March 22."What??!!!" was my response. I never gave authorization to change long distance providers and have never had reason to change.
The Qwest representative said I didn't have a PIC Freeze on my account, which is how it happened. I thought I had consumer protection against the psychopathic behavior of corporations like these, but apparently not. I immediately initiated a PIC Freeze, and then filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.
On account of MCI's sleezy behavior, I lost money because I was unable to make long distance calls and attend my weekly conference call. Then, just last week (April 30) to add insult to injury, I received a bill from MCI for $36.81!!! I imagine I've not been the only person that was preyed upon by MCI. I'm tired of corrupt and government corruption. Let's put the bastards in prison where they belong!
