My lovely encounter started out in December when my fiamce and I decided to rent a sectional until I found the one that I really wanted. We went to our local RAC in Lebanon where I proceeded to pick out the sectional that I wanted.
So I put in an order for it, I was informed that they didn't have one of those in stock but could give me a loaner until it came it. That was fine with me because we had family coming in for the holidays and the sofa sleeper was a plus. Everything was fine we were making our payments and I was under the impression that my new sofa was on the way.
Well at the end of December my fiance's pay was lost in the mail, we had a trace search going on it and everything. We called Josh the manager at the store informed him of what was going on and told him we would be there to catch up on our payments as soon as the check showed up. He agreed and there was no problem.
As soon as my fiance's check came I went straight up to the store and paid what was owed and I even think I paid and extra week to show that I was apologetic. Josh informed me AFTER I made my payment that my new sofa was not on it's way and that they couldn't get that model any longer. You know I was upset but I decided that I had become kind of attached to the loaner one so if he could just give me a BRAND NEW one of those I would be happy.
Now the reason I wanted a brand new one was because the loaner had rips on the back of it, rips where the recliners had rubbed for so long, the color was coming off of it so instead of brown it looks reddish all over the cushions. If you were me would you want to be paying full price for that, I think not..
Ok, then everything was fine and dandy... My new sofa had been ordered so I think. My payments were being made, then I started working for the same company that my fiance was and guess what... They lost my pay check as well. Only they didn't just lose it, they sent it to someone else. So not only did I have to wait for the other person to return it to the post office, then I had to wait for it to go back to corporate, then to a local store and then I could go pick it up.
Well while this was going on my fiance had called the store and asked them if they could come pick up our payment b/c our car had blown the motor (I know I have the worst luck), someone was on their was or so we were told. No one ever showed up, the next day we start receiving RUDE messages from Justin at RAC regarding our account and he "wanted his merchandise".
So my fiance kindly called Justin back informed him of the fact that no one had shown up the day before and Justin called my fiance a liar and said that he was coming to get his merchandise. My fiance asked to speak to Josh the manager.
They were able to fix it all, Justin shows up at our door with Chuck to get our payment and Justin says he won't take it it's not the right amount. It was the right amount it was for exactly 2 weeks but Justin said he wasn't accepting anything less than 3 weeks.
So again we had to get on the phone with the manager and he had to clear that we only had to pay 2 weeks. Ok so that was taken care of, now remember while this was going on my check is floating somewhere in our wonderful postal service. So I'm paid up for two weeks, so I call the store to inform them that I will probably be late b/c my check is missing. Everything is fine. Then when it comes time to pay my check still hasn't arrived so Justin starts calling me with his horrible attitute, he threatens to come take me stuff blah blah blah.
So I call the district whatever he is his name is Troy. I tell him what's going on and that Justin had me in tears on the phone and that my check SHOULD be here by Thursday if not I would call the store but Justin WAS NOT to contact me again or I would go higher up the ladder concerning the matter. This was all fine and dandy.
Thursday came around and I waited for my mail and no check. So I immediately had to get on the phone with my employer. Well I forgot to call RAC... My bad. The next morning Josh calls me and I apologized and he said they were coming to get my stuff. I informed him that I had gotten the money that morning.
Too bad, too late they wanted their stuff. I don't think so, I never got my new sofa, I more than paid for this crappy loaner that they gave me, I NEVER signed a contract. So forget it I decided to call it a wash.
Since then I have gotten so many harassing messages from Justin. I've saved them all. The same day I was on the phone with the manager he sent two of his employees to my house in their own personal vehicle to get my stuff. So I called corporate to see if that was allowed, they informed me under no circumstances was that ever allowed. Then I've had them show up on my door and beat on it for like 30 minutes... And I mean beat.
Then they had the police show up and the cop tried to talk me into letting him and them into my house. Yeah that wasn't happening. So I nicely asked them to leave. Still receiving messages from Justin (wasn't he told not to call me). Then today topped it all off! They show up on my door beating on it for like 10 minutes, then they go down the street and meet up with the other RAC truck. They send a guy from that truck up to my door.
Well I knew him so I opened the door and informed him that they needed to stop harassing me that I more than enough paid for this loaner. So he leaves. Well there's a knock at my door again, it's the district guy Troy, he is horribly rude. He basically said that he was going to press theft charges on me, and I was a liar. I tried to let him know about the harassment and the employees showing up in their personal vehicles. He said I was lying that never happened. So I let him know that I had called corporate, according to him I was a big fat liar and they would have told him if I called.
How would they know it was me when I didn't give them a name. Hmmm... So my fiance was on the phone and asked to speak to him, Troy refused and said he had no need to talk to him. So I put the phone on speaker, my fiance informed him that he needed to leave our property (I had also once already asked this guy to leave and he hadn't).
He still didn't leave, he was standing there yelling at me trying to start a fight with me. So I told him 3 more times to leave my property and he informed me that it was out of the stores hand now, HE was seeing that I get what's coming to me for this. So I went inside. They stood in my yard for another 5 minutes.
I'm sorry but to me this is completely uncalled for. I have more than paid for this sofa, they can't rent it to anyone else. And what kind of a man our you when you try to bully a 100 pound female. I could have called the cops and presses trespassing charges but I didn't want to stoop to their level. I hope this does go to court so I can sue them for harassment.
Stay away from the Lebanon Rent A Center, I'm not the only person that they are doing this to.
