First off, DO NOT GO THERE!!! Read below and please save yourself the money and dignity!!!
I went to this place last weekend after responding to a post on Craiglist.com. They called me immediately after I emailed them and they wanted to see me that day - but I live in NJ so it was hard for me to get there during the week. So I finally made it in after an hour and a half PATH ride. I get to this little shitty dark hallway and fill out a paper. You sit and watch a videotape of music videos from the early 1990s. A grungy guy flings open the door and screams "NEXT" at you.
I go into his office... Now mind you, this is my first time ever doing this whole modeling thing. He wasnt even looking at me, just looking at my paper and reading off what sounded like a monologue "im working with an agent in NJ who is looking for someone just like you. I like the look. You get all these pictures plus a cd, how do you want to pay?" thats it. So i paid $125 - although from what i hear they charge more or less depending on how good you look. On the phone when i made the appointment, she said i didnt need ANYTHING (no money was needed).
So i reluctantly paid and got schlepped into a room to take my pictures. I get about 30 pictures taken and he finishes and says "thank you" - so i say "do i just wait in the hallway for them to print?" - his response: "oh no, you need to come back next week, the earliest is monday." well, i wasnt told i had to come back. I thought they would be done as soon as i was done? No. So, i just get off the phone with one of their receptionists, and she said that THEY will call me when the pictures are done (i dont believe them - im going in unannounced!). I said ok, well can i pop in on friday or saturday afternoon to pick them up?"well you have to review the CD first, pick out the pictures that you like, then come back to pick up the pictures"... I have to make a THIRD trip?!?!!? I was NEVER told this from the get-go and now im really starting to get irked. They are scammers DO NOT contact them!!! They put these fake ads on craigslist just to get you in there. They are a middle man to the agencies - or so they say. The craigslist posting says they are looking for models of all sizes and they pay $800 a day and are shooting in NYC and NJ. Well Model Talent Network claims they work WITH them, not for them... interesting!!!
