Orange Model Management Modeling Agency Toronto
Scam

I finally decided to say something about this modelling agency. I went to this agency with my other friend. We went up to the office and we already felt that something was weird. First of all, the pictures on the walls, you can tell it was a long time ago. My friend hesistated to sign up because she was only 5'4 and had one two professional pictures. I am 5'8 and size 0 and I really don't even know why I went there. I didn't want to join them but my friend wanted to me do it with her so I did.

So we waited in the room for this guy to come get us. We were nervous because we don't really know what we're going to do. It took only 20 minutes for the entire conversation. We put our pictures into a disc and he viewed it on a computer. He said that there's a huge market for Asians right now. We were happy about that because we wanted more jobs. He said something about compt card that we have to pay. I forgot how much it was but it was for sure less than $300. It's probably around $200. It wasn't the money that we hesitated to pay. I've been to other agencies before and the coversation really makes me wonder if this company is legit!

I was the one who had a lot of professional pictures and for some reason, he said mine was weaker. He said I might need to pay a photographer and get new sets of photos done. I was thinking in my mind will he use my photos without my permission? I told him that I have many photographer friends and they can do a free one for me! I'm not comparing but come one, 5'4 over a 5'8 and unexperienced over experienced?

Another thing was, after when we told him we're going to think about it, immediately he said we'll give a week of time to make up your mind. He kept on selling it and telling us to join his agency which was a bit weird. It felt more like someone is trying to sell you something. If you're a good agency and you got models, you don't need to do that. Of course, we knew we're never going to talk to them again and they called after a week. We didn't pick up! Another thing was, the compt card samples in his office of their models were not recent photos at all! They look like they were taken 10 years ago.

I know a lot of models, and whenever I ask them about Orange, they all immediately say, "Everyone in this industry knows that they're a scam!".

I was looking for a part-time job on Craigslist and I constantly seeing them posting job ads looking for models and talents. What agency does that?

If you seriously have the quality to be a model, why not go to one that's more well-known. If you are a good agency, models would want to join you, you don't need to sell it.
