Yesterday I recieved a call from someone who could hardly speak english all that I could understand was Tru Logic and that he wanted money from me. Of course I hung up the phone; the same thing happened around noon today but this time the person was speaking english. He went on to say that I had an unpaid debt from Montgomery Ward (a business that went bankrupt about 10 years ago). I asked him to tell me about the "debt", he said that it was from 1994. The "debt" was an unpaid credit card bill of about 74 dollars. I told him that was from during the time when I was going through a divorce and the debt had been settled. This person became VERY abusive so I hung-up the phone. I looked-up the company on the Internet and found out that it seems to be a legitimate company so I called them. I spoke with a clerk who said that they are going to send me a form to complete and also send them a letter detailing that I paid the "debt". What I'm wondering is do they have the right to harass me (I'm a 100% disabled former Federal employee), and is this somthing they can actually do? Things like this make me VERY upset and nervous
