I sent this breeder a deposit of $600, on Oct 20th towards the purchase of a puppy. This was half the total cost. The breeder found out from her vet that the puppy had a heart issue and couldn't be sold. The breeder agreed to refund my deposit but said I'd have to wait until the end of the month as she was changing banks, credit cards and needed to register again on paypal.
I inquired on Nov 30th, the end of the following month, to see how she was going to send my refund. I received no response and emailed again Dec 4th to ask about my refund. She told me she sent a money order, through the mail on Dec 1st but it came back to her because she forgot to put a stamp on it.
She supposedly mailed it again Dec 4th. After 8 days and not receiving the money order, I emailed again, Dec 12th to let her know I had not received it. She asked for my address again in case she had put the wrong address on it but stated that she had the correct address.
She told me she contacted the post office to find out about lost or stolen money orders and she said they told her she had to wait 60 days, pay $25 and fill out a form. I too had called the postal service and got the info needed to inquire about a missing money order and the information was not the same as she told me.
Dec 13th I asked for the money order receipt number as proof that it had been sent. She said she'd get it to me when she had time. Dec 14th I email breeder telling her of my suspicions that she is not being honest about refund. This was met with attacks on me and my character. I continued to email asking if she had found anything out about the missing money order. Dec 18th she stated that she'd fill out the paper work the following day.
Dec 27th, I inquire again and no response. Jan 4th I inquire again and she response saying she hadn't heard anything. Jan 11th she emails me saying she doesn't know what I'm trying to pull over on her but the money order was cashed and she was appalled and disgusted with my ethics and for me not to ever contact her again or she'd consider it harassment.
So she has accused me of cashing the money order which is not the case. I emailed asking for the receipt number again and the proof she had that the money order had been cashed in hopes of finding out what state it had been cashed in but she has not responded. She has stolen $600 from me, plain and simple.
