I purchased a female Great Dane puppy, born on 3/21/10, and despite my repeated requests still haven't received the advertised AKC paperwork as promised. I've contacted the AKC who has tried multiple times to contact the breeder without success. The breeder cannot be contacted by phone and fails to answer emails.
In addition, when I picked up my puppy, all the pups were covered with these "bumpy sores". The breeder told the buyers (who all came at the same time to pick up their pup) that these sores were from the puppies playing and nipping each other. Turned out, my puppy had (and still has) Demodectic Mange. She is now almost 7 months old and is still struggling with mange.
The breeder is still advertising one pup from this litter for sale. Also, she changed her on-line kennel name to LM Great Danes the day my pups' litter went to their new families. The contract reads "Greater Danes".
The registration papers aren't really a big deal to me. What is, though, is that she continues to sell puppies and some probably also had or have mange. She gets a lot of money and then just disappears when the buyer needs help.
It's very disappointing and I'd love to know if the other buyers have had a similar experiences.
