My elderly mother went and purchased a lovely diamond. She purchased it in the 1980s. She has never had a diamond and inherited a bit of money and purchased one. It was lovely to look at.
After she died last January we finally got around to bringing it to a jeweler for appraisal this week. Mother paid $1600 to
$1800 for this ring at Jordan Marsh Store located in Worcester
Massachusetts. (now closed)
She had shopped at Jordans for years and loved the store. The ring was judged to be worth $300. Max and was occluded and a poor diamond. Her favorite store ripped her off for a lot of money.
I hope this tells anyone looking for jewelry to never go to a place like Jordan Marsh for anything like a diamond. We cannot do anything now and I am happy that Mom never knew what criminals worked that store.
