Back in August of ths year, I received an unsolicited phone call from someone representing Charter Communications offering me a "great deal" on a phone/cable/internet bundle.
The nice young man quoted me a price of $119.00 per month for a year, after which it would go up to $130.00.
At the time, I was using Charter for my cable, and a well known phone company for phone and internet. For what I was paying separately for those two services, the $119.00 deal was a definite savings. I do recall asking him what the catch was (he replied there was no catch) and if it really was only $119.00 (yep, only $119.00).
I set up a time for installation, which I thought was a one-shot deal... Not so. The phone was hooked up first during which one cable hooked-up to a splitter was cut, thus disrupting reception to a tv in my bedroom. Was told it would cost me to have them come and fix. My boyfriend has since taken care of it, and then my computer about 2-3 weeks - and several calls - later.
Anyway, when all was said and done, what the bill actually totals every month is not $119.00, but more like $136.00. What they didn't bother telling me about was the hidden fees, taxes, whatever. At no time was I told that it would be $119.00 PLUS additional charges.
