Move On Up Moving And Storage
Dishonest and fraudulent moving company

1. I had to relocate from Lodi, NJ to Greeley, CO for work in Sept.
2. A company called NorthWest Vanlines (ICC MC# 529363 Tel no 866-978-5353 116 WEST 23RD STREET SUITE 44, New York, NY 10011 www.northwestvanlines.com Sales Manager: David Oren) got in touch with me through movers.com. Northwest Vanlines AKA North West Vanlines estimated the weight of my belongings to be 2,000 pounds at $0.67 per pound for a total of $1,340. According to the agreement and as recorded in the email confirmation, this price included
a. Door to door services. (loading unloading).
B. One month free storage.
C. Disassamble & Reassamble (If needed).
D. Basic insurance of valuation protection of 60 cent per pound per article.
E. Taxes, Tolls, Gas & Mileage included.
F. Free moving blankets.
3. On the day of the move (Sunday, Sep 24th) the moving crew came from a company called Move On Up Moving and Storage US DOT # 1333995 - ICC MC # 505554 - NY DOT # T-36516 Ph no 877 943 3933 Address: 40 Worth Street, STE #1328 New York, NY 10013 www.moveonupmoving.com Owner: Alex Alpert / Pamela / David Weeks). I tried getting in touch with NorthWest Vanlines but no one answered the phone. I could not do anything and had to allow Move On Up to proceed with the move as I had to hand over the keys to my apartment to the landlord and take a flight to Denver the very next day. I came to know later on that Northwest Vanlines had sold my load to Move On Up without my knowledge.
4. Move On Up's services were very unsatisfactory right from the beginning. The pick up crew coerced and intimidated us into paying a $400 as gratuity to "ensure" our property would not be damaged. Eventually they took more than a month to deliver the goods despite repeated follow ups. During the follow ups, Move On Up lied to me over and over as to where my belongings were and when they were likely to be delivered. During this time, me, my wife and 8 months old infant son faced a harrowing time and were living like paupers sleeping on the floor in our apartment in Greeley, CO with no furniture, no utensils, no clothes (except what we carried on the flight), no warm clothes etc.
5. Initial charges were computed taking the weight of my belongings as 2,000 lbs at 0.67 / lb. Subsequently, Move On Up, without any explanation, stated that my belongings weighed 4,000 lbs and demanded that I pay a sum of $3,479.25.
6. I told Move On Up that it is unfair for them to double the estimated weight without providing any justification especially since I had not witnessed the weighing of the truck as was agreed upon by NorthWest Vanlines.
7. After a lot of back and forth, Move On Up finally agreed that at the time of delivery, the full truck and the empty truck will be weighed, and the difference will be the actual weight of my goods and the payment will be settled accordingly.By this time, my move had been sold to A Golden Hand Moving (9437 E Colorado Ave Denver, CO 80247 Ph no (303) 367 2100) USDOT Number: 1300527 MC or MX Number: 504712).
8. It was agreed that Ron Levin from A Golden Hand Moving, who was to deliver my belongings at Greeley, CO, will reweigh the truck after delivering my belongings as confirmed by fax message sent by Move On Up dated Oct 25
9. On Oct 27 I paid an amount of $2,115 in cash to Ron Levin and weighed the truck at Johnson's Corner, Loveland, CO [I was made to pay for the weigh bridge].
10. After unloading my belongings Ron Levin refused to take all my goods up into my apartment and insisted that I cough up an additional $300 nor did he reassemble the furniture. He later ran away with the truck without reweighing the truck and settling the balance as agreed.
11. Now, these crooks are not even willing to provide me with an invoice for the move. Numerous calls to Move on up Moving and Northwest Vanlines have gone un - answered. I have to claim the amount from my employer, and without an invoice I cannot even file my relocation claim.

The movers also caused considerable damage to my goods. The office lady Pamela at Move on Up is abusive and racist, and point blank told me that you people from India always create problems. I wonder how many non-Indians would sit calmly after going through such harassment.

Based on my conversations with them, I can conclude that it is an organized criminal enterprise. These are not a professional moving company. They make their money through fraud, intimidation, threats, and stealing victims property. They get away with it because there are few statutes or agencies governing their operations and also know that most people do not have the resources to pursue them legally. And yes, Move on Up moving uses he legendary Anthem Claim Management out of 2351 W. Memorial Court Anthem, Arizona 85086 Ph no: (302) 457 movingscam.com/forum/viewtopic.php? T=5703&highlight=claim management
