On June 1st of 2003 i purchased 1 ddb from heather searle (show quality) for the amount of 1500.00 and an additional 150 to ship so the total cost of 1650.00 after recieving the dog i proseded with the contract and took the animal to the vet finding out that the puppy (dozer) had a hernia and will have to go in for surgery to have his stomach sowed up i contacted heather at that time and only thing she said she would do is trade me out pups but i would have to pay shipping of the dogs wich would cost about the same as the surgery around 300 dollers.
I ended up washing my hands of heather and just forking out the money for the surgery and going about our life. Now knowing allot more about the breed dozers hips were way to narrow and he was always to skinny to be a show dog. He was in and out of the vet for minor stuff the three years of his life.
The clincher of this whole ordeal is 3 weeks before thanksgiving 06 i noticed dozer was getting a little to skinny and had not ate for a whle so i waited it out for about three days and then took him to the vet. A long story short with in the next two weeks dozer went from 140 lbs to 90 lbs we paid well over 1000 in vet bills and then two days after thanksgiving we finally had to do what was the most painful but humain thing for dozer and put him down.
The final result in why he passed on was he had limphnoma cancer then since his immune system was down he also caught valley fever.in all this i havent been able to reach heather and if anyone goes to buy anyanimals i strongly suggest do your research on the breeder and get referals
