I bought an English Bulldog Puppy from the listed breeders in December. The one I was supposed to get got sick all of a sudden and they wanted to send me a different. This should have raised a red flag but I agreed.
I paid 1725.00 for the pup including shipping. We got the pup and we were so excited. We had her for three days only and she developed kennel cough. This cost me 100.00 in vet bills with medication. I contacted the breeder she told me this was common. Ok fine. One month later the pup developed cherry eye which is not life threatning but it cost another 300.00 to fix it.
I contacted the breeder only out of concern for the pups health she said she doesn't normally take pups back but in our case she would. I should have taken her up on it but we loved our little Tillie so much already. We just wanted to know if she might have any other health problems.
On Feb 20th my little girl pup had a rectal prolapse her lower intestine came out of her rectum. We rushed her to the vet immediately. He sedated her pushed it back in and sewed it up to keep it from coming out again. This cost was 267.00 We were to take her back in three days to have her stitches removed.
On the day of her follow up appointment her intestined came out again. The vet sedated her and did an xray to see why this happened. The xray showed her intestines were all twisted and pushed down in her lower abdomen. The xrays also showed the pup had bad hips there were hardly any socket for them. She would be facing painful hip surgery in the future. He was appalled that this pup had come from a breeder. We decided to end the pups suffering at that time. The vet agreed with my decision.
I contacted the breeder hoping to just get a refund of the dog even though no amount of money could replace my broken heart. She accused me of not taking care of the pup i should have had her stomach fixed and bull dogs hips are supposed to be like that. She was very brutal and heartless. She told me to fly to Oklahoma and sue her if I wanted. This pup was not the first bull dog i have owned. My last on lived for ten years with no problems. My vet agreed it was bad breeding. I am heart sick over the loss of my little girl pup.
