I received a letter in the mail postmarked from Canada, but with no return address.inside was a letter from Osborne, Inc. Stating I had won $200,000.00 in a "National Sweeps Stake Draw". There was a check for $4,450.00 with instructions to deposit it and then call for instructions as to how to wire $2,850.00 for taxes.
Being skeptical, I called to ask questions. Barbara explained that the drawing had been like choosing a name out of the phone book (red flag) and that the tax money would go to the Canadian government (another red flag).
At that moment, my wife got on the internet to look up info about the company. Thanks to those who have already written about the scam, we were spared any further investigation or headache. Be wary of Osborne, Inc. And its affiliates—they are bad news!
