Bait and switch, delivery late, rude customer service

On October 11 one of All My Son's sales associate came to our home in Springfield Tennessee and estimated that our move would be $3797.50 to take our belongings to Silver Lake Wisconsin. I had recieved several estimates from other companies and decided on All My Son's, because they seemed the most reasonable from the otherss (BIG MISTAKE).

We recieved a call a day before the move from the company telling us when the movers would come. The movers were coming on October 17th between 8 and 10 AM, they did come at that time, but could not load all of our belongings in the truck. We had to get a rental truck to take the rest of the load to our new home in Wisconsin. We asked the movers when would they be coming to unpack our belongings the next day, October 18th. The head driver told us to meet them at our new home at 8 am. That they would be there. We arrived at our new home with our rental truck at 7:30 AM, we waited and waited until 10 AM and my husband recieved a voice mail from the movers telling us that they had slept in and would be there around noon. We recieved a phone call around one pm from AMS telling us that the movers had not recieved directions and were lost. We finally recieved a call from the mover and he told us that he was lost and could not find us. My husband and other family members went to the movers motel and had the movers follow my husband to our new home.

They did finally come and move us. They moved only the heavy stuff and alot of the boxes we unloaded ourselves. We recieved the bill of lading from the movers that totaled $4727.50.

We did pay them, only because the rest of our belongings were held hostage in the truck, until we paid. After that they did move the rest of our belongings, and the leg of an entertainment center and also on a dresser was broken. The movers said that the truck did that.

Four days later, after this mess, I called our sales representative that originally did the estimate and told her of the problems that we had. She told us that she had made a mistake on the calculation of the estimate, but there was nothing that she could do about that. I asked her if she made the mistake why our we paying for it. I then told her of the other situations, she gave me the name of the person to contact in claims. I called the next day, the man was extremly rude, he would not listen to anything that I had to say. He said that he had heard several things about this situation and he was suspicious of me (the paying customer) and if it was so bad why did we pay the movers. I told him that if we did not we could not get our stuff.

Moving is an extremly stressful situation whether you are doing it or someone else is doing it. And when you have companies like All MY Son's doing this and presenting themseives like they did to us, and others (far worse), they need to be put out of business. These people should not be able to practice this way. They are not professional. And I challenge this company to bring it on. I am tired of this type of practice.
