Ripoff, trying to scam me out of additional 49.99

I moved to a new home in June and my local phone company offered DISH network as an option. I called and allowed them to bill me for 49.99 activation as I was told I would receive a credit on my bill for it. The installer came to set up the service and proceeded to explain to me how the DVR service worked in 2 rooms. This was not the same info provided to me by the agent trying to get me to get the service.

I immediately determined it wasnt for me and called to cancel. The guy gave me a hard time but eventually told me the service would be cancelled. I got Directv the next day. A week later, I still had not received the mailing labels to send back the equipment so I called. I was given a number and told they would send them again. This went on for 1 month and I called again to speak to a supervisor.

At this point, the woman accused me of trying to keep the boxes because according to her I NEVER cancelled the service. Those idiots continued to bill me even though I requested to cancel it. After going back and forth it was supposedly cancelled and I was told I would get my money back. I started getting bills and the bills would say I was seriously delq and that my service had been "interrupted."

SO i call and get the outsourcing agents who do not seem to grasp the concept of supervisor requests. They transferred me to a spanish rep, the tech support department and finally to the "concerns department" which didnt exist. I was told, I owed them 49.99 even though they had already billed me. They claim because I didnt cancel the service and they see they gave me credit for it even though I didnt use the service. I didnt even have the serve for 30 minutes before I called and asked to have it cancelled. I have told them month after month I will not pay the same charge again when I didnt owe it because of their 30 day money back guarantee (they forgot this was an option when I called). I am also having to check my credit report monthly for fear that this will come back to bite me in the backside.

I am not sure how they stay in business if they are always trying to rip consumers off. This is just my experience with them.
