We had our gas disconnected in error due to a misapplication of funds. The payment was submitted electronically thru our bank but because it was applied to an incorrect account, our gas was disconnected in error. I called the customer service department and the representative verified the funds had been rec'd 10 days earlier and was going to " make a note " to the account to waive the reconnect fee and ordered the gas to be turned back on immediately. Per my conversation with a supervisore this " note" was never logged onto the account. And the funds did not get applied correctly until the next day. Laclede claims that since it was not their error they will not remove the $54.00 reconnect fee on our account.
Per constructive receipt they had the money but still claim they are entitled to receive this fee. This doesn't seem fair.
Any thoughts?
