I fell into their trap! Great Expectations needs to be STOPPED! After making my worst mistake yet I've found out that so many others have made it too, some people I'm close too. But you feel so stupid about the money you've wasted it's hard to admit it!
I signed the contract and paid the outrageous sum of money ($3000) that had to be tied to my credit score and got taken for all of it. They promise screened professionals and even show you "sample" profiles. But the high pressure tactics should be illegal. They misrepresented the ratio of men-to-women. I had contacted the office expressing my dis-satisfaction but the only reply I got was that I was really trying too hard and that I was being impatient and hadn't even used my personal shopper package yet.
I did contract the BBB but they were not able to help.
I had several first dates, no repeat dates. Finally my membership expired this spring. Then several months later I got a call on my home number from a member. When I called the office they claimed he had been someone I had chosen prior to my membership expiring so they had given him my information. I continued to get email from them for months after requesting to be removed from the mailing list. I thought I was finally over it and could let it be behind me but...
Then in August I got another email from them about an event, but this time it shows all of the member emails addresses. I've kept it and I so badly want to send a reply to all asking who else is unhappy with the company and their service but have not it yet.
Two nights ago I got a phone call from them asking if I'd like to renew my membership because their had been a LOT of interest in my profile. Now how can that be when I am no longer a member? I told her no thanks and she asked what she could do to change my mind and I said unless it's free forget it. She replied it'd only be $300 for 8 months (I think) which is about 1/10 of what I paid before. How do we get them on the TOP rip of report links? How do we get them exposed?
