Family Petshop is a family owned business, but do not be fooled. The owner/breeder and his wife are scammers and liars.
My AKC female dog was originally suppose to be bred with Family Petshop's Stud Dog who was also said to be an AKC purebred dog. Here's where it gets twisted. I find out after the birth of the puppies, that the sire (male dog) was not the owner's dog, but the dog belonged to his friend (which was a lie). Then I asked for the sire's AKC registration number and information. The owner/breeder would not give me the sire's information.
Basically, he used a random dog (who is not even a registered dog) to breed with my purebred female dog. The owner of the petshop verbally said that the stud dog was his and that the stud dog is AKC registered. Later, the owner/breeder of the petshop tried to give me the sire's registration number, but it was a FAKE number! Everything that came out from his mouth were all LIES from the beginning. He still will not provide me with the sire's proper registration number or any information, till this day.
The owner of Family Petshop and his wife hang up on my calls and will not cooperate with me. They were so friendly before the breeding, now they are being very cold.
What was the damage I received? Not being able to register the puppies to a kennel club, not knowing what genetic defects or illnesses that might show up in the pups as they grow, and loosing $500 from the stud fee.
What did the owner/breeder receive? $500, this money has proabably been added to all the money him and his wife have made from scammimg other costumers.
I found out that Family Pet Shop has been getting away with scamming for many years, because the victims did not report this petshop.
DO NOT go to Family Petshop (located in Artesia)! Especially for stud services or to purchase a puppy/dog. Don't be fooled by them. Save yourself and your family from a heartache and DO NOT STEP INTO FAMILY PET SHOP!
