This company contacted me saying they purchased a debt account I owed. It is 2006 and they say I owed AT&T $315 in 2002. There is no invoice to support their claim. I wrote them back within a few days asking for a proof of debt but they went ahead an reported me to the 3 credit bureaus. I'm disputing this debt.
Experian says they're deleting this record but Equifax and TransUnion won't. The truth is that there's never been a record in my credit file from AT&T saying that I owe them money. I'm really mad because Calvary Portfolio bought this fake debt from someone and directly reported me to credit bureaus instead of giving me proof of debt.
How do I force them to remove this item from my credit report? Oh, I also checked and found out that even if I had a debt from AT&T in the statute of limitation would have expired in 2004 or 2005 (It's 4 years for an open account in Florida).
