Calvary Portfolio Services/Cavalry PRTF has sued me without telling me what the debt was for or who the original creditor was. They did NOT contact me prior to notifying me that they were taking me to court for more than $10,000.
Imagine my surprise to find out that they had not only filed the complaint, but had ALSO received a judgement for the debt!!! ALL WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OF THE COMPANY, THE DEBT, OR THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR.
I now have a lien against my property, not that I have much of it and what I do have is mortgaged to the hilt, and still have NO idea what the debt was for.
I was notified that "Cavalry PRTF" had been added to my credit report with TransUnion and that the "industry type" was listed as "personal finance." However, "Calvary Portfolio Services" was listed on my Experian credit report as "other collection agencies."
I find it VERY unsettling that this company has gotten away with this scam over and over again. It is downright scary to think that, if they got this against me, what did they get against others?
I'm an 80 year old grandmother/great grandmother and these people are coming after me. WHY???
I also called the phone number, which was listed the same on both Experian and TransUnion reports as being 800-501-0909, and was directed to http://www.cavalryportfolioservices.com / to "make payments."
Also, I indicated that "Cavalry PRTF" and "Calvary Portfolio Services" are the same company because the same address is listed on both credit reports.
