Ripoff of Cricket Cell phones

I have been a cricket costumer for a long time. I have owned 3 cricket phones including the one I own now. I have never had a problem with cricket before this.in Feb. Of 2006 I bought a flip phone from Cricket for $200.00. I signed up for the $45 dollar plan and the $5 a month for cricket clicks and $5 for insurance in case something happened to my phone.

From the beginning my phone wasnt right. It would turn off and back on by its self. I didnt get good signal bars. One time the screen froze up for about 4 hours and I couldnt do anything with my phone.in late June, I went to use my phone and noticed that that my screen was all black. At first I thought my phone was dead but after charging it and getting no where, I realized something was wrong.

I went to the Cricket store in my area. They told me that in order to get a new phone I would have to pay $45 dollars even though my phone was still under warrenty. $10 of the $45 would go to shipping and handling for them to send it to some people to look at my phone. They would decide if it was my fault or not. If it wasnt my fault then the $35 dollars would get credited to my account. I waited about 2 weeks and they finally called me and told me that there was moisture and corrosion in my phone and that I would not get my $35 back.

I was really upset because I knew that it wasnt my fault. I had not had my phone by any kind of liquid. I had a feeling they would come up with something so I wouldnt get my $35. When I found out what they said I wrote Cricket and asked them for proof of the tests they did and how they came to the conclusion of it being my fault. That was about 6 days ago and no one had wrote me back and told me anything.

The new phone that they gave me at the end of August was not any better than the first phone I purchased. My camera would not work at all and the flashlight would stay on all the time even though in the phone it said it was off. Because of the flashlight my battery wouldnt stay charged. I went back to Cricket and they tried to charge me $10 to trade for a new phone. They finally gave me a new phone. This phone has something wrong with it too. It beeps in your ear the whole time you are on the phone and the buttons do not work right.

You would think if you spent $200 on a phone and the phone stopped working you wouldnt have to pay to get another one. My friend has the same phone as me and hers does the same thing as mine but yet it was my fault and I had to pay for a new one. I pay $5 extra a month for isurance and if something happens to my phone I still would have to pay $85 to get a new one. What is the use of paying the $5 a month. I would never refer anyone to cricket because there phones are not worth the money.
