I received a phone call stating that I had been selected to receive 3 free magazines of my choice plus a free men's or women's diamond watch. The person asked my interest and selected magazines accordingly. I kept stating that I did not want to buy any magazines, but was told that everything was free multiple times.
The person kept telling about the free magazines and that now I was also entitles to 6 moer magazines of my choosing. Again I stated I did not want to purchase magazines as I am not a magazine reader.
The person was annoyingly persistent. I should have hung up at this point but not being a rude person I listened as this person was doing their job. Little did I know that I was being suckered into a raw deal.
After finally reaching the end of her spill, she stated that they just needed to charge me $1.00 for the processing fee. I agreed to this as it was such a minute amount.
The following month I was being debited for $49.90 per motnh from my checking account.
I called the company only to be put on hold, hung up on, or told that I cannot cancel the deal. I did request that they discontinue charging my account for the amount, but now I am receiving nasty letters wanting the payments.
I have had no success in dealing with this company on the phone. I did a search for the company online and find that numerous others have had the same experience. Makes me feel better that I am not the only one to feel so taken by this scam.
I only hope that some agency can step in and put a stop to this type of marketing and shut this company down. I also hope that there is a way to get out from under this stupid obligation without causing a major problem with my credit rating.
The magazines are still coming although I requesting that they be stopped. Ome of the magazines are of such nature that is not proper in my home environment as they are very sexual in nature. I feel so violated.
