APX express Lies, tried to get credit card information, gave fraudulent location with false promises of good rates, when I wrote back, sent nasty email!

This company if you can call it that is a Joke!

I found them via the internet while looking for a way to send some boxes of surfboards to Costa Rica. I was finding that the cost was on average about US$900 and so I was looking around for the best cost.

I came across APX international and called thier number listed on thier site. I was told that the cost would be around $150 dollars. That was great considering all others were so much higher. I asked what I needed to do and was told that I had to send my credit card number and then give them a basic estimate of the box size, weight, basic dimentions.

I asked if that would be a fixed price becuase I didnt have the dimentions with me at the time. Andy (so called CEO - also the one answering the phones...) told me that they would adjust the price when I sent the box, but this would get me started. So I said o.K. But luckily didnt give out my card number, I told Andy I would call back the next day with exact dimentions so I could avoid any additions to my card.

The next day I was told it would cost more from someone else and when I told them that I had been quoted a price already they said "oh, let me check.." and came back saying o.K. I asked where I was to take my box and if I could pay there and was told that they had over 300 locations. I asked about san Diego and they couldnt find the number or the location and told me they would look it up and email that to me so I got a bit concerned and said I would pay when I sent the box and all of a sudden mr. CEO -Andy, says "why are you concerned this is fraud?!" and I replied no, I just want to take care of this all at one time in one location and dont want to drive to Los Angeles.

The next day, no email response with the location. Two days later, I am stressing becuase I need to get the box out and so I call him and he says, he forgot. Then I am told APX is the same as DHL in San Diego and that I have to send them my card before I will get the rate quoated me. I said I would call back and immediatly called DHL only to find out they have never heard of APX. I went to thier location and told them the situation and they were very concerned as I had printed off the email with DHLs name on it.

I just dropped it then, until about a week later, I get a email from them advertising their services again and I sent a reply stating that I felt that I was given the run around and that I was told they are the same as DHL and they are not. The next day, I get a letter from ANDY-the so called CEO stating very rudly-"You did not follow instructions... Did YOU? You never got any instructions from us did you? Therefor you got what you deserved... If you would have followed instructions and faxed your documents to us you would have been VERY HAPPY... But since you did not believe us... Or you had your misgivings about us... You did what you felt like and therefor got the run-around!

Warm Regards, Andy CEO"

These guys need to be shut down and I will be letting everyone I know hear this story so no one gets ripped off like I almost did. Be aware, they seem to have multiple web addresses and phone numbers, also I spoke to various people on the phone and thier emails have lised various names - (natalie Penagos from Customer service and others. If anyone would like to see the emails, I have them and will be happy to forward they to you.
