My wife and I saw an ad in the Phoenix paper concerning the price of a 2005 Mazda Pickup b-2300 at Bell Road Auto Mall. I talked to a salesman and explained that I was a teacher on the reservation and needed some transportation. We had been out of the country for 5 years and flown straight to Phoenix and was picked up and taken directly to the school to teach. The price listed was 8900 dollars and I asked about that price. The salesman said that there were rebates and other things that a person had to be able to fulfill to get it at that price. I asked what price he could do for me and my wife... I was teacher and needed a low price and was 5 hours away from Phoenix and would have to get a ride there. We negotiated and he finally said that he would do 10,000. I said that I wanted it and when could I get it... He then backed down for a minute on the price and said... Now wait a minute... I dont want you running down here and not being able to get this truck so let me talk to my sales manage to make sure I can do this. He then came back on the phone and said that he could not sell the truck for 10,000 dollars but could sell it for 10,500. I said ok I want it. I told him I would make arrangements to go there the next day and get the truck and who would I ask for when I got there. He said Andy. I called the next day and he was not there at the moment so I asked the person on the phone named Sherry if they would honor the price that Andy gave me and explained the conversation he and I had on the phone and she said yes they would honor the price. Since the trip was so long I decided to call while I was on the way to make sure the truck was there. I called again and talked to Someone there and explained what Sherry told me and what Andy told me and that I was coming for the truck and that it was a long way and that it was another 3 or 4 hours and I asked if the truck was there and the price was still going to be honored. This time I talked to Sherry and another person. Again I was told yes. So now I was sure that the truck was there and that the price was going to be what Andy told me... What a lie!!! When we got there and I walked in and asked for Andy... Of course he was not there and so I asked for Sherry and she was not there... I then explained about the truck and the saleman I talked with said... Wooo that is a problem... They then had me wait and the people who took us down there for over 4 hours and my son was only 4 months old. The salesman said there was no way anyone would sell that car for the price they told me... I showed them the ad, and told them to call Andy and they did. They then came to me and said that they did not have that truck that was in the picture or ad and I said Andy said it was here Sherry said it was here, and another person on the phone said it was here... And they all said they would honor the price Andy told me. They then did get a hold of Andy by phone and he did tell them that he told me 10,500 for the truck. They still would not sell it to me for that price... The owner came outside to talk to us (now it was almost 5 hours that we were there) He said that there was no way he would sell the car for what Andy told me. I said that when Andy agreed to that price and then had his sales manager say it was ok then we had a verbal contract and I wanted it at that price. The owner said that he did not care what Andy said... He would not sell it to me for that price. The store was about to close by this time... And he said that he would sell it to me for 11,500 take it or leave it. After 5 hours of riding with someone and then waiting for 5 hours I decided to but it at that price, but I was pissed about it. What big liers! B*st*rds! Making my wife and I wait all that time with a 4 month old son and people who brought us down there... And not honoring their own salesman's quoted price!
