SYNAPSE CONNECT, INC sells magazine subscriptions by offering FREE issues, with a cancellation clause at some point in time.
I did subscribe to one magazine, but cancelled all the others when I received a post card from them in February.
I called their phone number 1-800-927-9351, where I was connected to a voice activated system, and cancelled those subscriptions on 02/13/06.
Upon receiving my CREDIT CARD BILL yesterday, May 4, I found that I had been billed for those magazines I had cancelled.
I again went to the phone number listed on my credit card bill, and the VOICE ACTIVATED SYSTEM, was configured in case a surprised and angry customer was calling, by anticipating cancellation, and I again went through the cancellation process.
The VOICE ACTIVATION SYSTEM said that they would cancel and credit my CREDIT CARD within 5-6 days, but that it may TAKE 2 MONTHS before I would see the credit on my CREDIT CARD.
NOT ONLY did I have the UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES on my credit card, but I also had charges (interest rate) by my credit card company.
I called the credit card company, and told them about it, and they seemed to know about this company, and reversed the finance charges on my credit card.
I now have to go back, and file an UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES by this company., etc., etc.
After reading reports from others that have dealt with SYNAPSE CONNECT, INC of SALT LAKE CITY., I will not deal with them again...
