Move Ontime And Moving Star scam, rip-off, liars, unprofessional, Joshua, Isaac, Carmen, Gigli

This nightmare began when I was contacted by Carmen who is a field representative for the company Move Ontime. She gave me a quote based off an inventory list, which consisted of 10 boxes, baby crib, changing table, King Size sleigh bed, dresser w/mirror, armoire and one nightstand. She quoted 1099.00 total move from Texas to Ohio. It was 324 cu, ft at $3.50/cu ft.

After getting other estimates, theirs was the lowest so I contacted her three weeks prior to my move; I paid a $200 deposit. Carmen then said half was due at pick-up, the other half at delivery. Great, and so I thought it was settled, she told me my estimate was "binding" and that it would not change as long as my inventory did not change. She also guaranteed me a set pick-up and delivery date.

Three days prior to pick-up a lady named Judy calls me from Olympic Moving and Storage and says she wants to "schedule" my pickup. I stopped her in mid sentence and advised her that I do not know her, or her company, I have contracted with Move Ontime, and I have a set delivery date. She then starts to argue at me, threatening to cancel my whole move (hindsight is 20/20 I should have let her do it) and tells me to call the "broker" then hangs up in my face. So I contact Carmen ask her what is going on? Carmen then tells me that sometimes they use their "sister company" to do a move because they only have one truck. So at that very second Move Ontime has violated my rights... Told me they were the movers never said a word about brokering my move to another company and never gave me any options.

Day two before my move... A man named Isaac calls me from a company called Moving Star. He is a dispatcher and the driver will be coming to pick up my furniture between noon and 3pm.

Well at 4pm the day of my move the driver calls says he will be late getting there. They finally got to my apartment at 8pm. He immediately tells me "you have to sign these papers to prove we have possession with your permission and the inventory list" I sign. Then after he has my belonging loaded on his truck he tells me I have additional footage and so the price of my move has increased by $900.00. Bringing the total to $2001.78

Well, I only had what Carmen told me I needed which meant at deliver I needed to have $1351.78 in order to get my furniture.

Delivery day comes... No word from Isaac (the dispatcher) or the driver. It took me having to have my attorney call them for someone to call and tell where my furniture is and when it would arrive.

The driver calls me the DAY it was suppose to be deliver and says to me it will be the next morning. Tells me they can't take a personal check and needs a money order. I go get cash and get a money order. That next morning rolls around—still no furniture. The driver calls that night says he will be there in the morning and tells me he is on a tractor trailer 53 ft. I tell him, that is not what was said to me, I already told Move Ontime that a truck that size could not come in my complex, he said well if we have to transfer to make the delivery you will be charged an additional $400.00. So I have to go rent a U-Haul and have him meet us in a Target Parking Lot where they will take my things off of their truck and that's it. No set up no deliver to my house, but included in my $1351.79 that was included. Not only that he wont take the money orders I had from Kroger he wants them changed to "postal" money orders. Which I was never advised of.

So now I have 2 boxes of dished busted, damage to my dresser, armoire and nightstand. No one during the whole ordeal was helpful to me; especially Joshua at Move Ontime who basically said it's not their problem. So I have filed complaints with FMCSA, BBB, DOT, and Attorney Generals office. We will see whose problem it is then.

NEVER use any of the two companies, Moving Star or Move Ontime they are horrible companies and rip-off con artist.
