In mid-February I purchased a HP Notebook because of the rebate from Office Depot.
After the purchase but before I sent in the rebate forms I was told about the problems getting the rebates back so I made certain I had ALL the information correct and included everything they ask for. I re-checked it and so did my husband before I sent it in. Two months later I receive a post card telling me it was rejected because I did not send in the sales receipt or the bar code. I told the guy they were attached to the request form so how could he have the form and nothing else. He told me I would have to re-submit it. I told him I may not still have any receipts or copy of the bar code because I sent everything with the form. He said then I would not be able to get my rebate. I told him this was fraudulant and a rackett.
The post card also said I had until April 10 to get this back to them. I told him I didn't even receive it until April 14. He said just ignore the date. I did find my copies and will send them in but will have to wait another 8 to 10 weeks for my rebate if I get it at all. I told him I think they just automatically send everyone this rejection notice hoping people will forget about it or just give up. Well NOT ME. I got a rejection letter from HP also. Again I had everything they ask for. I made certain because I was expecting this. Something has to be done about these rebate scams.
