U-haul
Double charging, rude customer service, doesn't cooperate U-HELL

I rented a uhaul truck last week to move my business from one location to another, which was only about 2 blocks, but anyways, there is a uhaul rental center about 1 mile from the shop where I moved. I had called the 1-800 number to check for availability and specifically requested that location, I also paid what they told me was a $5 fee, unfortunately I gave them my CCD info which was my mistake for trustign them wtih it.

About 1 hour after calling the 1-800 number, I got a call from the 24th and McDowell road store which is about 10 miles away from my business, I told them I requested the 40th street store and the guy I spoke with on the phone said no problem and transferred me, at that store they had the truck available and I rented it. Fast forward to 2 days later after I drop the truck off, its a total of $63, I figure everything is good and I had a good experience with uhaul.

Well, a few days later I check my bank account, I see the $63 charge and another $50 at the 24th and McDowell store!!! The other store that had called me originally charged me $50 for a truck I never used. So I called them up, I explained to them what happened, they accused me of being a no-call no-show and they said they are allowed to charge me the $50 even though the guy had transferred me to the store I wanted. According to them I was 'supposedly' made aware of this at the time of making the phone call. After some more arguing the guy started getting rude with me and I lost my cool, I told him they could either refund my money and pay the $20 fee or I would have the bank force them to. This $50 charge had also caused a $20 OD fee at the bank because I was running very close at the time. I told him we could either work it out or I would do a chargeback with my bank, he said 'do whatever you want to do'. He started being rude immediately with me, obviously he doesn't care how he represents the company he works for, and certianly doesn't care about any of his customers.

Anyways, I am getting charged for a service that was never rendered, there was no point in renting a truck that is completely out of the way when the store less than 1 mile away had a truck available. There was no reason that the 1-800 people even directed me to that store because I 'Specifically' asked for the local one. I am currently trying to get ahold of the senior district management to get this resolved. But it should have been a simple misunderstanding and they should have refunded it on the spot, instead they are looking at it as 'free money'. Maybe they shouldn't be hiring highschool dropouts as their store managers and we wouldn't be having this problem.

This is strike two against them, about 1 year ago moving the same shop from Surprize, AZ which is exactly 38 miles away from the current location, I did a one way move. I paid $100 up front for the move and that was to cover everything. About 2 weeks later I get a letter in the mail from uhaul trying to charge me for fuel and for an extra 100 miles, funny that it was exactly 100 miles more than the actual distance. Upon trying to resolve that they gave me the same attitude, the 'I don't even care to look into it, you are the customer and are always wrong'

I just get the feeling that they think they can just charge you whatever they want even if they are lying to get an extra buck out of you.

I am going to go to my bank next to reverse the charge, it would look a lot better for uhaul to issue the credit themselves but either way I will have my money the OD fee back. That is a flat out lie and a ripoff.
