I ordered Dish Network services to get international channels for my parents. I choose to go for one-year contract instead of buying my own hardware following advise of a salesman. That was my first mistake. Dish network technicians spent 4 hours trying to install and configure Super-dish, but when they left, my equipment was loosing signal at the rate over 60 times an hour. This problem was never fixed. Imagine: sunny California, new development, absolutely no trees or other obstruction objects but no reliable satellite signal. I called Dish network technical support routinely, explained my problem, they would tell me every time that in-home service is needed, schedule services call, then the same installer guys would show up, play around with my receiver and leave saying that they do not know how to fix the problem. I was billed for my service every month, when I asked for a refund, I was told that technical problem has to be fixed before the refund can be issued. That scenario continued for 5 month from the day of installation, until I called to cancel my contract. During the call when I ask for my service to be cancelled, I was threatened to be charged for the equipment plus cancellation fee. When I informed customer service rep that I am not canceling because I do not want the service, he told me that I signed the contract and am liable for all fees mentioned there. I did want the service; I just did not get it. But guess what? This situation is not in standard contract I have signed! So, they charged my credit card without my consent for the amount of cancellation fee plus usual monthly service. If this is not a rip-off, then I do not know what is. Stay away from better TV for all, you are not all by dish network standards, do not full yourself.
