Ripoff magazine subscription not received

I wrote a door-to-door salesman, a young man, a check for $46 for a gift subscription for my husband to maxim magazine on 8-3-05. It is now 1-12-06, more than 150 days later, and no magazine has shown up yet. 90-120 days for subscription to arrive, supposedly. I am a sucker for a cause, and i certainly got suckered this time. I have tried calling the phone number on there website, and always get an answering machine.
