New Generation Reader Service sold magazine subscription to me for $44 for 3 yr subscription. I never received. Company won't reply to my inquiries

I purchased a 3 year magazine subscription from young man who came to my door. He stated he was selling magazine subscriptions for a chance to earn a trip or something. I can't remember all the details but sounded genuine. It has been a little over four months now and the magazine never arrived. I paid $44 and the check went through my bank quite awhile ago. The receipt I was given said the magazine would arrive within 120 days.
